TWID #1: Introducing This Week I Did
A weekly newsletter where I share my process and experiences with different creative tools and other things.
Beginnings are hard
To be honest. This is the very first article I publish to the internet.
I’ve never had a blog or something similar and for a long time I thought that I would never do that. But as everything changes so do I.
Why this, why now
Social media is getting really fast
In the last couple of weeks I got more and more annoyed by as I would call “fast social media” - mostly known as instagram, twitter and others. Everything is moving so fast that it creates a feeling inside me that I am always missing something.
I also noticed that I really like to focus on one thing at a time and get absorbed by it. Which is just not possible on those kind of platforms.
It’s super hard to write
Before I entered the world of digital creative tools I have been an illustrator for quite some time. So I am trained in communicating visually. It’s pretty effective, but also somehow limited in terms of nuances you want to point out. And especially in academia there need to be words on a page.
But writing has always been incredibly hard for me and I tried to avoid it as much as possible. In order to change that I try to force myself into doing it regularly and maybe get better at it.
Do things and talk about them
During my creative practice I’ve encountered many different tools and topics. In order to be more aware about what I am using and how that feels to me. I thought it would be smart to just write it down.
Introducing: This Week I Did
I am not exactly sure how I will use this, but my plan is to share my thoughts and experiences with different creative tools. Where I want to focus on one topic a week and write something about it. But this might all change, so don’t quote me on that.
Disclaimer
This is a very personal thing that I do mostly for myself.
But maybe you find value in that too. That would make me happy.
